Welcome to NPGS

The Nevada Petroleum and Geothermal Society (NPGS) is a non-profit organization originally formed in 1986. Our mission is to foster the development and growth of mineral industries in Nevada with an emphasis on geothermal, lithium, petroleum, and other fluid minerals. We are based in Reno, Nevada and meet in person on the first Thursday of the month from September through May and host industry-leading guest speakers. Additionally we try to host networking events each summer. Proceeds from donations and fundraisers are directed towards the Graduate Student Research Awards in Earth Sciences at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), particularly students who's major emphasizes geothermal. We encourage anyone interested or involved in geothermal, petroleum, lithium or other energy and mineral industries to join our group.
